WEST BARNSTABLE DENTIST RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS MASTERSHIP FROM ACADEMY OF GENERAL DENTISTRY
CHICAGO (July 2007) – The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that John Roger Lake, Jr. DDS, of West Barnstable, Mass. received the prestigious Mastership Award during the AGD’s largest Convocation ceremony, a commencement celebration that recognizes AGD members commitment to excellence in dental education. Held at the AGD’s Annual Meeting & Exhibits on June 30 in San Diego, Dr. Lake accepted this award along with more than 175 other recipients.
The Mastership Award is the highest honor available in the AGD and one of the most respected designations in the profession. This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence. To accomplish this, Dr. Lake completed 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques. As a recipient of this award, Dr. Lake has joined over 2,200 members in the dental community who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Dr. Lake.” says AGD President Vincent Mayher, DMD, MAGD. “by completing the rigorous requirements to become a Master, Dr. Lake goes above and beyond basic licensure requirements in his state to keep his practice on the cutting edge. He takes extra dental education to provide his patients with the very best in dental care. This award truly distinguishes Dr. Lake from others in the dental community.”
Dr. Lake graduated from Georgetown University in 1979 magna cum laude and currently practices dentistry in Marstons Mills, Mass. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Lake is a member of the Cape Cod Dental Society, Mid-Cape Votech Dental Assistant Program, Mastertrack Study Club and an Apex Instructor for Boston University Dental School.
Dr. Lake is married to Mary, and has one child, John.
